El Nino Proofing Your Home (#2 in a series)

David silvaconstruction.com 4We have a recent customer that is having some work done on a family home. They were worried about what El Nino might do to their roof. I know there are a lot of contractors out there that would automatically just say replace it. That is not how we work. We had our guys inspect their roof and all they needed was a tune up. This can mean many different things depending on what kind of roof you have. If you have an asphalt shingle roof you may just need some shingles replaced and have all of the vents re-sealed. With a rock roof you might need the same sealant and some extra rock added. If you have a tile roof you need to make sure none of the tiles are cracked and the cement is in good condition.

All in all you need to make sure your roof is in good shape. Having a leaky roof can cause tens of thousands of dollars in repairs. Then you still need to replace your roof which will cost thousands more. In order to save money in the long run, have your roof inspected by a professional.
