Is it Your Forever Home or Will You Sell it in 5-10 Years?
When you are considering what to do to improve your home keep in mind how long you plan to stay there. Are you going to live in that home until you are no longer able or will you sell in 3 or 5 or 10 years? If you plan on staying forever, make it your own. Do everything you want that would make you happy. Go crazy on your own style.
If you are planning on selling your property and want the best return on your money, consider making it look nicer and stick to areas that will give you the highest return on your investment. Those areas are the kitchen and bathrooms. You’ll need to do normal repairs on your house but typically, kitchens, bathrooms and curb appeal is what will sell your house. If you have a rundown kitchen or bath you would be able to upgrade it now and get your money back and then some when you sell it. It will also be able to enjoy it for the 5 or 10 years. Think of it as an investment that you are able to enjoy!
