Stand Alone Showers
In my last blog I talked about free standing bathtubs. If you have the space for one, it is a beautiful design choice. Most homes however have standard 30” by 5’ tub-shower combos. Well a tub that size is great for small children but the average adult won’t use it as a bathtub. I would say for at least the last 5 years many people have been taking out the bathtub and making the space a large standalone shower with a bench and a recessed shower niche.
Now some of you might worry about taking out a tub because of resale value…well I have worked with many Realtors over the years and the general consensus is that as long as you have 1 bathtub in your home you can convert the rest to showers. A standalone shower with a clear glass shower enclosure also opens up the space making the bathroom look bigger.
