When I’m asked to do an estimate for someone, I usually ask what they are looking for in the contractor they would like to hire. I often hear the word value. Value is defined as “equivalent worth or return in money, material, services etc”. I’ve found that value is defined differently for each person. Someone with very little money may consider value to be how much they can do for the money they have budgeted and a person without a concern for the amount of money spent might feel that the value lies within the ability of the contractor. They want the contractor to wow them.
Are you looking for value? Do you want to be treated fairly and get a little more than you expected? Do your homework because there are contractors out there that will give you the value that you expect and want.
