What’s trending in modern bathroom design…Linear Drains
Linear drains are useful in many ways. They will allow you to have a curbless shower. For those of you who don’t know what a curbless shower is…it’s not having to step over anything to enter the shower. This not only gives you a seamless look but it is wonderful for people who are older or handicapped. A wheelchair can roll in to the shower. If you are remodeling your home now and are planning to live there indefinitely this would be a good choice for you.
A linear drain also allows you to use larger tiles. Larger tiles mean less grout and that is always a good thing. Normally in a shower you cannot use tiles over 4 inches in diameter because you need to create a slope for proper drainage. With a linear drain the slope is going to one side of your shower so you can use use the same tiles that you have on your bathroom floor for a modern look.
